Where is the Student Innovation Center?

The Student Innovation Center is located on Iowa State University Campus at, 606 Bissell Rd, Ames, IA 50011.

Where should I park?

  1. On the weekends all of the parking lots highlighted in yellow are open for anyone to park there for free, Lots 8, 3 and 6 are the closest to the Student Innovation Center and are labeled in the maps below
  2. There is also paid parking at the MU parking garage, $17.00 is the fee for the whole day

Where do I go once inside the Student Innovation Center?

  1. There will be a registration table inside the entrance that faces campus
  2. Once registered staff or volunteers will direct you to where you need to go
  3. Here is a map of all floors, each map includes gender neutral restrooms, which room will be used on the level and elevators

What is the schedule for the whole day?

How long do I have for my presentation?

Each student will have 15-20 minutes to present and there will be time at the end of each session for questions.

Is this event going to be live streamed?

Only the Keynote Address are going to be streamed.

Will food be available?

Yes, a light buffet style breakfast and box lunch will be provided. Dietary needs will be taken into account based on registration responses. Please remember to register here: Attendee registration

What A/V equipment is available to presenters? 

Each room is fully equipped with computers, projectors and screens for presentations. There are also microphones to amplify speakers.

Do I have to be a Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies Student in order to participate?

No, any undergraduate or graduate student is welcome to participate in the conference as long as their presentation relates to the topics of gender, sexuality or feminism.
