Sarah Chase was born in Ames, but spent most of her childhood in NE Iowa. Daughter of Craig and Connie Chase, she was always interested in fine arts and teaching. After teaching high school for two years and moving to Des Moines, she received a Master’s degree in English from Iowa State and is currently teaching as a Lecturer in the English department.

  • Current Lecturer in English at ISU
  • Undergraduate degree from Wartburg College: Secondary English Education (Certified 5-12, Speech/Drama Endorsement 5-12)
  • MA English Literature degree with a Women Studies minor
Research Areas
  • Thesis focus: gender in Disney films (Brave & Frozen), gendered spaces, ecofeminism, and third wave feminism
Life outside University

Hobbies: traveling, writing screenplays, reading, watching movies, going to plays and other local events, enjoying food from farmers’ markets and CSAs, visiting friends, and trying new food at restaurants
