The Women’s and Gender Studies Program seeks graduate students to apply for WGS Teaching Assistantships for 2021-2022.

Job Description

A half-time teaching assistantship for Women’s and Gender Studies 201 “Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies” involves:

  • Attending all lectures of WGS 201 and presenting one lecture during the semester
  • teaching two recitation sections of WGS 201
  • grading student work
  • participating in weekly meetings with the course instructor to coordinate and plan discussions in the recitation sections
  • holding office hours (3 hours/week) to meet with students

Job Skills/Requirements

Applicants must be currently enrolled ISU graduate students with a minimum 3.0 GPA. A Women’s and Gender Studies background is highly desirable (including courses at the undergraduate or graduate level); preference will be given to students who have declared a Women’s and Gender Studies graduate minor.  Prior teaching experience is a plus, but not required.

Application Deadline: March 1, 2021

Pay Rate: competitive with rates in home department and degree level of candidate

Schedule Type: temporary, part time, fixed hours

Schedule or # of hours/week: 20 hours/week
